Donor screening
Cornea Bank Budapest has delineated protocols to ensure a standardized quality of ocular tissue for surgical use. We follow the medical standards specified by the European Eye Bank Association to provide comprehensive uniform donor screening ensure high quality cornea for surgical use and avoid transmission of any infections or diseases from donor to recipient.
Acceptance of donor tissue according to exclusion criteria and contraindications are performed by the staff of Cornea Bank Budapest.
Our list of contraindications for acceptance of corneal tissue before removal is according to the European Eye Bank Association’s yearly guideline.
Serologic testing
Cornea Bank Budapest requires all ocular tissue for surgical use to be tested and found no reactive for the following:
- Hepatitis B surface antigen
- anti-HBc antibodies
- Hepatitis C surface antigen
- HIV 1 and 2 antibodies
- Treponema antibodies (Syphilis)
A positive serology result is reported to Cornea Bank immediately and the relevant tissue is discarded.
We record all serology results on tissue documentation before the cornea is released and issued to a surgeon for surgical use.

A honlapon használt egyes elemek használatáról:
- A legfelső sor: (jobb oldalon) frissítés: az aktuális frissítés elvégezhető,
a gyengénlátóknak készült lapokhoz juthat a bal felső sarokban lévő ikonról,
itt a betüméret gombokkal nagyobb méretben is olvashat ill. azt visszaállíthatja,
a nyelvikonra kattintva választhat nyelvet.
- A főmenü sor alatt: a bal oldali széles hasáb az aktuális tartalom területe,
a jobb oldali keskeny hasáb a főmenüsor melleti navigálási lehetőségeket biztosítja:
a vissza gombbal az előző oldalra juthatunk,
a keresés funkcióra itt ad információt az oldal,
a függőleges menü: a főmenüsor aktuális menüi itt is mindig megtalálhatóak,
a Google keresés: a Google-ban való keresés a honlapon belül innen.
- A láblécben: a megismételt menüpontok mellet új az éppen olvasott
